THE INSTANT BETWEEN FALLING AND RUNNING. He has caught his balance and come upright, one foot ahead of the other, arms away from his sides, and his head is up and looking down the road. The face is the whole point: the empty upward stare of the collapse has gone and been replaced by recognition, mouth closed with one corner lifted. He has seen the finish and understood he is going to reach it. He has not started running yet.
