THE FILMRADIO DRAMAARCHIVEV9 DRAFTv220
INT. — AT THE BLACKBOARD, MOCKUP

A real boy standing at the left of the blackboard with chalk in his hand, back to us, clear of the writing.

A MOCKUP FOR COMPOSITING, NOT A FRAME OF THE FILM. The boy is generated and is not Manan: he is here so the standing position, the scale against the board and the eyeline can be seen. In the film Manan is a photograph keyed onto the drawn board. IT CAME BACK WITH TWO HANDS AND BABA KEPT THEM. The boy at the left with his back to us, and a second hand entering at the right holding chalk. That is two ways to cut the scene: the whole figure when we need to see who is arguing, and the hand alone when the board is the subject and a body would only take up room. Both are usable and both are wanted. One thing is wrong and is left wrong: the board has gone photographic where it should stay a drawing with only the boy real. Use the positions, not the rendering.

The DNA of this frame

Phase. Phase 11 of 15, THE TWO THEORIES, ON THE BOARD.

Hero’s journey. THE ORDEAL, which in this film is comprehension. Nothing is fought.

Element. LIGHT, which is what lets you see, as against GLOW, which burns and does not last.

The music, for Suno
Not written yet. Every shot needs two: the scene bed it sits in, and this shot’s own arrangement of it. The instruments come from the element in the DNA above.
What it means, and what it does
Not written yet. This frame needs its meaning set down: where it sits in the film, what it carries, how it moves the story on, and what it is doing to the audience. Ask before animating it rather than guessing from the picture.
