THE FILMRADIO DRAMAARCHIVEV9 DRAFTv220
INT. CONTROL ROOM — ON MANAN, MOCKUP

A real boy standing on the stone floor in the middle of the reverse plate, photographic against the drawn room, with the desk end at the left and the arched door at the right.

A MOCKUP FOR COMPOSITING, NOT A FRAME OF THE FILM. The boy is generated and is not Manan. The position, the scale and the way he stands on the floor are all correct and are what to take from it. The visible cut out edge around him is useful rather than a fault: it reads unmistakably as a photograph laid onto a drawing, which is exactly what the composite is. THE EYELINE IS WRONG AND IS LEFT WRONG. He looks toward the right of frame. The desk is at frame left, so Coach Brain is off frame LEFT and Manan must look LEFT. This is the third mockup to get the eyeline backwards. The direction was fixed by the wide 19-2-A-v1: COACH BRAIN ON THE LEFT LOOKING RIGHT, MANAN ON THE RIGHT LOOKING LEFT. Use the position, not the eyeline.

The DNA of this frame

Phase. Phase 10 of 15, THEY INTRODUCE EACH OTHER.

Hero’s journey. MEETING THE MENTOR, late and inside the cave. The obstacle and the guide are one figure.

Element. THE HAND, and SACRED SPACE. A room treated as different becomes different.

The music, for Suno
Not written yet. Every shot needs two: the scene bed it sits in, and this shot’s own arrangement of it. The instruments come from the element in the DNA above.
What it means, and what it does
Not written yet. This frame needs its meaning set down: where it sits in the film, what it carries, how it moves the story on, and what it is doing to the audience. Ask before animating it rather than guessing from the picture.
